The Computer – Still the Future
The computer is a huge teaching tool for children today. Some moms are weary of letting their small child on the computer, but if you know it is educational, then it can help your children in so many ways. Some children as small as 18 months can operate a mouse and use basic kid websites. Sometimes kids are four and five and still not into it, so you will have to go by your child's interest level. At first and until they learn to use the mouse, you will have to sit with them and walk them through computer time. Do this if you can, but five minutes a day is plenty of time to introduce the computer until they are ready to drive. May we note that some of the websites we recommend for educational purposes are used by schools today. You are just giving your kids a heads up.
Beginner Website (but just as fun for adults):
Teach your children to read (this is the “Sesame Street” for this generation):
Educational and fun websites for kids:
mylittlepony.com (Playtime in Ponyville)
Advanced website (age 4+ and fun for dads) (free first level and then $10 download fee for more levels)
We recommend bookmarking these sites right on your taskbars, so your children can simply click a button to return to and switch through websites. Please use a filter or monitor your child's time just to be extra safe from those yucky adult sites.
