ceoMoms CARE

ceoMom's mission is to strengthen and connect moms. After reading an article on a non-profit organization called "CARE" in Parents Magazine, we felt this was an organization all moms need to know about. Care's special focus is working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape from poverty.

"CARE workers go into small villages to organize mothers' groups," says Sally Lee, Editor-in-Chief of Parents who traveled to India with CARE. "They teach women how to apply for bank loans or access government programs. They help them set up rural clinics to bring desperately needed health care to mothers and babies. They show them how to improve schools, plant better crops and fight for access to clean water and sanitation." One great example is a woman from India who used a $75 loan to buy a buffalo. She sells its milk and cheese and proudly explains she has saved enough money to send her daughter to college.

ceoMom applauds CARE and we wanted you to know about it. Mothers need each other. And often we don't realize we can help one another, even from across the world. If you are looking for a way to change the world, please visit www.care.org.

You can read the article in Parents Magazine, September 2008.

Sincerely,
ceoMom
