How long do you stay away fro sick playmates

Description: During this crazy season of allergies, colds and flu, it is sometimes hard to know which friends are really sick. I would love to hear your opinions on when to play and when to stay away. A few of the kids that we have regular play dates with have allergies so it is difficult to determine if they are sick or not. I don't want to appear rude or make my children miss out on fun events, but sometimes we stay away because my daughter is prone to seasonal asthma attacks.
