Running Tips

ceoMom 304, Carrie

The best advice I have for running is to go to www.itrain.com and download i-tread workouts for your i-pod. Grace Lazenby is the greatest and she talks you through all kinds of different runs on the treadmill and outside. I am training for a 1/2 marathon right now and I feel like such a more confident runner because of the things I have learned from doing Grace's i-tread workouts. In fact, when I do my 1/2 marathon next month, I am planning to do it listening to Grace's outdoor runs in my ear! Good luck! I would love to hear more about your running!

Thanks! I am doing the run/walk method right now. It's going well! I will check out the one you suggested!

What intervals do you run/walk at? I'm trying to find a good balance, but usually end up pushing it too hard during the run, and don't back down to the walk soon enough and ruin my stamina...did that make sense?

Right now I am just doing run 2 walk 1, sometimes run 3 walk 1. It's going well, nice and slow! Don't try to overdo it...that's the biggest thing.

On the I-train workouts I mention here, they do a 6 to 1 ratio: 6 minutes of running and then 1 minute of walking.
