I just read an article on Oprah.com about "Calorie Restriction." It's a special diet consisting of no more than 1,900 calories a day that may extend your life by 50 years. The diet simply consists of natural foods like fruits, vegetables, oatmeal, fish, etc.

By limiting your daily calorie intake, your body goes into efficiency mode. Your body understands it doesn't have any resources to waste and turns on your Sirtuin pathway, a mode to live longer, that has been recently discovered.

You have to choose your food wisely to be under the necessary calorie intake and still receive enough vitamins and nutrients.
