I have continual troubles with my children and sleep! I know just what you are saying! My advice is stick to your "we sleep in our own bed" policy. Just because you don't have a two-parent home, does not mean you have to feel guilted into letting her sleep with you and losing your own sleep in the process. You need every advantage to be at your best and handle all of your responsibilities so you can be a good mom to her. Getting your sleep is crucial! Plus, you need time to yourself at night to just think. It is impossible to do this when your child is sleeping horizontally in your bed.
Instead of making it a punishment when she won't obey you, make it a reward when she does. Maybe try setting up a reward system for sleeping in her own bed. When she does it for five nights in a row, have breakfast in bed on Saturday or go to the new Hannah Montana movie or something that will appeal to her. Celebrate every morning she sleeps in her own bed and let her know how much it helps you to be a better mommy when you get your sleep.
This is such a tough spot to be in. I know there are no easy answers, but the more you give in, the harder it will be to break the habit. Don't give up on it! Best to you!
