Real Friends

My best friends from Jr. High and Highschool are still what I consider my best friends even though I only speak to them once or twice a year with an occasional lunch date. I don't worry about these relationships, because even though we don't speak every day, I know I'm thought about and loved. When we do get together, it's as if we've spoken every day. Things pick up just where they left off. Yes, we catch up on life's happenings and have a few laughs about the "good ole days," and that seems to tide us over until we have more time in our lives to spend together. Don't discount your friend for not having a lot of time to devote to your friendship. It will someday get better!

I feel the same with with several of my college friends. No matter how much time goes by, it's like we can pick up right where we left off. And it's fun to joke about our good times. And well, we did have some really good times!

My two very best friends live in Europe and I get to see them only every so often. We write cards and letters and phone here and then. Being friends now for 55 years we are still able to fill in the blanks regardless how much time has gone by.
