I have an 11-year old son who is starting to get to the puberty stage. I have noticed that he has been more sensitive to what others think of him and how he fits into the world. We've had some awesome talks, but sometimes I think it helps to have other forms of help too.
I went to the bookstore and found a book called "Chicken Soup for the Preteen." The Chicken Soup series has a book for every stage of life! I thought maybe he would think I was being a dork, but he started reading it right away and actually took it to his read-a-thon at school today. There are some great stories about growing up and changing and staying true to who you are. I think it will help him realize he's not alone and he's not the only one who feels the way he does at times. Anyway, just thought I would share that bit of information!
