Last year I paid $30 for a gel pedicure with cute glittery toes. I watched the girl pour glitter from a pot right onto my toes and then siphon it off. They were super cute and lasted about two months. I then spent the rest of the year growing back out my damaged toenails.
This year I took the same thirty dollars and bought super fine craft glitter pots from my local craft store to match my favorite bright nail polishes.
I painted on the color, dumped the glitter over my wet nails, siphoned the excess glitter back into the glitter pot, blew off any remaining glitter from my toes with the blow dryer and applied a top coat. I recommend applying another layer of glitter and another top coat over it all to seal it in.
They turned out adorable and last about two weeks without chipping. To remove your polish, you'll need a remover with acetone in it (my non-acetone didn't even budge them) or straight acetone you can buy at a beauty supply store.
You can also just use topcoat and a layer of glitter for light, shimmery nails (instead of bright, solid ones) or paint a glitter french tip over french pink or white polish.
So much fun for summer!
