Keeping Track of Who Gave What at Birthday Parties

My daughter just attended a wonderful birthday party a few days ago and I noted a fantastic way the mom of the birthday girl kept track of who gave what presents at the party. Typically, I have either scrambled for a piece of paper to write everything down hoping I didn't miss anything while still enjoying the gift opening and taking pictures all at the same time - or - asking another adult to write it down for me even though they don't know all the kids' names. So when I saw this genius idea at the birthday party the other day, I just knew I would be doing this from now on.

Here's what you do: When your child opens the present, you take a quick picture of your child, the presents and the kid who gave it. Everyone poses and smiles and looks forward to getting their picture taken. Then all you have to do is look at the pictures to know who gave what. Fantastic! And it provides a very nice memory for the party too.

For thank you notes, I usually print a picture of each child with my daughter at the party and write the thank you on the back of the picture.

I love this idea, now we can just write thank you for the fabulous gift.

Great tip.
