We watched the US Open finals yesterday and I couldn't believe how my kids got into it. They took out our tennis rackets and all the tennis balls and played in our living room while watching the match on TV. We then had a great discussion about how hard the professionals practice and how my kids too can achieve wherever their passions may lead them. This got me thinking about all the great sports out there. Football and basketball are typically watched a lot, but there is so much more on TV. Here are just a few examples:
-- Cycling: The Tour de France, July
-- Tennis: Wimbledon, June/July; US Open, September
-- Equestrian: Kentucky Derby, May
-- Golf: PGA Tour, September
-- Soccer: World Cup, June
Not to even mention the Olympics...
It's fun and inspiring to introduce your kids to a lot of different things, a variety of sports included.
