Seems we moms can do a lot of driving around. Here are a few simple games to make travel time a bit more fun and educational:
Name That Tune
You can hum a line or two of a kid's song and see who can identify it first.
Bug Car
We called it "Slug Bug" when I was a kid, but my girls like to call it "Bug Car" now. Either way, this fun ongoing game that spots VW Bugs help little ones to learn colors and to think fast. "Bug Car Green!"
I Spy
We played this too and it's still a fun one. "I spy with my little eye..." And then you give clues until the object is guessed. Everyone takes a turn.
Riddles
Make up simple riddles that help kids think. "What is red, goes on french fries and tastes good?" They can get harder for older kids.
Tell Jokes
If you don't know one, use this:
Q: What did the bee say to the flower?
A: Hello honey!
