I love the "Make a Mix Cookbook." It has completely re-vamped and simplified my meal planning and cooking.
Once a month I make the "chicken mix," the "meat mix" and the "meat sauce mix." I freeze the portions in Ziplock bags. In the recipe book, there are about 10 recipes you can use to make a meal out of each of these mixes. Cooking my main dish is a matter of defrosting the meat mix and adding vegetables and other simple ingredients.
This makes for easy planning and quick cooking. I've tried other frozen meal ideas like, "cook for a day, eat for a month," but this is by far the simplest and works the best for my lifestyle. I bought my "Make a Mix" cookbook from Barnes and Noble.
