Memorial Day is a great time to spend with your family! Here are a few ideas:
Go on a picnic. Even if it’s your own back yard, a nearby park or a secluded spot in a meadow, go on a family picnic. Everyone will enjoy this!
Visit Grandma, Grandpa, an elderly neighbor or a veteran. This is a great way to show your children how to care and love those who are older, are wise and lived through many experiences. Let your younger kids make cards to bring.
Plant a tree or flowers. This is a great way to celebrate life and teach children about nature. You can plant a tree or flowers in remembrance of someone special or as a symbol of your family.
Go on a hike. Kids of all ages love going on a nature hike. Pack lots of water and trail mix and talk an easy walk or a big hike depending on your family. Bring cameras and let your kids take photos as you hike.
Bake cupcakes together and then deliver to a friend or family who could use the pick-me-up. Kids love to bake (little kids love to ice). Add sprinkles and then teach your family about service. Memorial Day is a great time to do little special things for others.
