Yep and that is the reason "dad is a dad," because he is usually devoid of the mommy gene. And somehow the kids survive and love him for it. Go figure.
So on this Father's Day in which he is supposed to be revered, we try like good wives to search for and find the best gift and fun activities. But how does a 5-year old get excited about a power tool or a new tie? They don't. And although dads love to get the paper mache creations, I know they are truly wondering when this kid is going to get a clue and "buy me power tools." KIDDING!!!!!
Truly we want to give dad the best, as most dads do deserve some small token of our appreciation. But on MOM's day I just wanted a nap and really dad probably does too or at least just some time to himself (even though he leaves for work everyday and is without the family). My hubby loves down time and I do mean real down time: no plans; just time to watch a movie (his choice), sleep, eat garbage and have total control of the remote, while of course I am dressed in a French maid's outfit speaking in an English accent. KIDDING AGAIN!
But in reality dads are as busy these days as we are. Give them rest and relaxation. It is the best gift!
