This is a great book about love, perseverance, and work and how it can change your life.
It is about a young girl who was born during the time when her father was sucked into a bog. Her mother despised her daughter for so long because she could not save her husband.
There are miraculous changes, true love, and the sweet feeling of forgiveness and apology.
My only "beware" scare is that there is a lot of talk of clothing. It seems that the author felt that clothes define a woman, which can be partially true. When your girls read it, explain the fancy dresses they wore in that time period are equivalent to the good clothes that we are wearing.
It does kind of make you want to go back to floor length skirts and beautiful frills. :)
