Pesto Sauce with Fresh Basil

To go with that pasta that won't heat up the kitchen (angel hair), here's a sauce that won't either!

Mix the following in your blender:
-- About 2 cups fresh basil
-- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
-- 1/4 cup pine nuts
-- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

While the machine is running, slowly pour through the top:
-- 1/2 cup olive oil (add more if needed - it should be a thick paste)

-- Add salt and pepper to taste (it takes a good deal of salt).

Pour over your pasta, and you've got a great sauce. We often add chicken to it as well. Also great as a dip for breads.

We started our gardening with basil, because we could plant it in window pots in our small apartment.
