I figured this out last year just by chance and told myself that I needed to remember this when it came time to shop for back-to-school clothes again.
I have typically bought clothes right before school starts, maybe saved a little during a "back-to-school" sale here and there, but mostly paid way too much. But if you wait until Labor Day weekend, you can save way more during the Labor Day sales. I especially found this to be true at The Children's Place where I tend to buy lots of basics.
I pay way less than I would have a week or two earlier. And besides, it's still hot outside and the first month the kids are still wearing summer clothes. They can't wear their fall clothes yet anyway, so why buy early and pay more? Wait for Labor Day and save!
