Remembering the Fleeting Moments

ceoMom 471, Sabrina

Our kids are constantly saying and doing things that make us laugh or amaze us. We have 3 children that were born within a 4 year span. My husband and I planned to sit on our front porch in our golden years and laugh about the sweet things our children did when they were younger. The only problem was, since they were so close together in age, we were afraid we would forget who said or did what.

I decided to solve the problem by buying a journal for each child. When they said something funny or reached a mile stone, I write it down, along with the date and a description of how it made me feel. Not only will this refresh our memories, but it will also give our children insight into what they were like in their early years.

I have also done this, they are absolutely a treasure. Have your children color a picture every once in a while in the book or write their name. It is so fun to look back and see the progression as they grow. It adds a depth that makes you cherish it even more.

Never thought of having them color a page in the book. Of course I have a box with folders for each child to keep momentos and pictures they make, but I had never thought of allowing them to take part in the making of the book! Great idea!
