Clothes are expensive, especially when you have to buy for various ages and sizes all at once. Here's a trick I have been doing since my children were born to cut down the cost of clothing. I'm sure some of you budget-savvy moms are already doing this. Moms that aren't, try this and you'll never have to pay full price for a new spring/summer or fall/winter wardrobe again.
Wait until the end of season clearance sales and then purchase 1 to 2 sizes larger for your children to wear the next year during that season. I recently bought over $300 worth of expensive clothing from Belk for my daughter for next year and only spent $68.31. I purchased $44 dresses for $8!
I then store them in the long plastic rubbermaid under-bed storage containers until the appropriate season. My kids are always dressed in expensive, well-made clothing, but my bank account doesn't deflate in the process!
