Start an "Urban Garden"

ceoMom #489, Lynn

One way that could help cut down on grocery bills is to start an "urban garden." This growing trend is an easy one to join. Pick veggies that are hardy, climate appropriate and ones that you like. There are varieties of veggies that are made for smaller settings, like a deck or a patio vs. a garden. Plus, it can be a fun activity for you and the family to go out and pick your veggies for that night's dinner.

I've really been thinking about this. I have a small patch in my back yard that I can grow veggies on. I tried it for the first time this summer and learned a lot. Not everything grew, but what did grow was fun and usable. I want to try it again and see if I can grow more things that we'll use. Thanks!!!

I really want to do this.. we just moved to Hawaii and live in miliatary housing so we don't have any ground space. But I would love to learn to do containers and plant strawberries or something fun!
