Grandmother Role

Grandparents can be great and not so great. Dealing with family is always a very tender area. I say that because of family dynamics. They are different in everyone's life.

It really depends on where YOUR boundaries are as a parent. What do YOU want their role to be? What do YOU feel is healthy for your children?

This is about all of you and as the parent, you have the responsibility and unfortunately the obligation to be the rule maker and enforcer. This sounds harsh but can be done in a way that does not intimidate and sustains the family dynamic without hurt feelings. Decide what you feel is best for your children and then stand by it. Part and parcel of being the parent.
