Homemade Caramel Apples

ceoMom #101, Jennifer

We made these last night and they were a complete hit! I couldn't believe how easy there were to make.

This is what you need:
-- About 70 caramel squares (this is about 1 1/4 pounds)
-- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
-- 6 Granny Smith apples
-- 6 wooden craft sticks

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Dip apples into boiling water briefly to remove any wax (I stuck a fork into the apple and used that to dip, but you could also use a slotted spoon). Wipe and dry apples.

Line a baking sheet with wax paper and coat with cooking spray. When the apples are done, you will place them on the wax paper to cool.

Unwrap caramel squares and put them into a small pot. Add cream. Cook on low temperature until melted and smooth.

Add sticks to apples and then dip into the caramel. I used a spoon to help pour over the apple. *This is really hot, so don't let small children help!

Let the apples cool on the wax paper. Enjoy!
