Marianne Williamson

ceoMom #329, Kristy Lynne

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be beautiful, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people dimension to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

The actual author of the quotation is Marianne Williamson. To be precise, it is from her 1992 book, "Return to Love" (hardcover p. 165, paperback pp. 190-191)

I love this quote! Thank you for sharing it here, to remind me. We each have our gifts we have been blessed with, and it is up to us to let those gifts bless the lives of, not only ourselves, but, others! Then, as we let our light shine, we not only spread the light and warmth, but we encourage others to glow brighter! Our gifts are different so we can bless each other, and so we NEED each other. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!
