Surviving a Toddler

ceoMom #101, Jennifer

I joke and say the hardest age is from when the child can crawl to about age four. I laugh and say the terrible two's are nothing compared to three-year olds. Every child is different, but in my experience toddlers and early preschoolers can really be a handful. It's when they really discover their voice, their opinion and what they really want to do. Emotions can run high, tantrums can happen and life can become stressful.

My tip to moms with toddlers is this: You'll get through it! I find that when a child turns FOUR years and THREE months, they almost turn into a different child overnight. They become more reasonable, go to sleep better, eat better and become more patient. I know this may not always be true (some kids might ease up earlier or later), but this is a great target age to focus on when you feel overwhelmed by having a toddler and when you feel it will always be like this. It won't.

Thanks , I needed that as I am knee deep in toddlerhood and barely surviving. I will keep that magical age in mind!
