Christmas Eve Tradition: Wassail

ceoMom 300, Cindi

Our family gets together on Christmas Eve evening to watch Scrooge and other Christmas movies and drink Wassail. The Wassail is easy to make:

You take 1.5 quarts water, 12 cloves and 6 cinnamon sticks and boil it for 10 minutes. Then you add 1- 6 oz. can of frozen lemonade concentrat + water to make 1 quart. Add 1- 6 oz. can of frozen orange juice concentrate + water to make 1 quart. Add 1- 12 oz. can of frozen apple juice concentrate, 1.5 cups sugar and 2 quarts water and simmer for an additional 20 minutes. Remove the spices before serving.

If you can, make it a day ahead, refrigerate it with the spices in it and reheat it about an hour before serving (and remove the spices after reheating).

I've never made wassail, but it sounds yummy. I'll have to try it this year.

I have always wanted to make Wassail, but never knew how. This is great! I think I'll make it Christmas Eve too when all my family is in town. Thanks!!!
