Gowns Gowns and More Gowns

I have a lot of gowns and a couple of wedding gowns to boot and I have kept them all. Why? Well it goes like this... There are times when a gown can be altered to fit another occasion or can be worn for another occasion. I have also kept some of my daughter's gowns. She has also worn some of my gowns and some of my girlfriend's gowns to different events, because she keeps hers also. We have a store of sorts. I know it takes space, but in the world of ever changing styles and the real economics of it all, you never know when it will be needed. Your daughters may want your gown, or if you do not have daughters, your son's bride. Way back when, they never got rid of anything and gowns were passed from bride to bride. This can be done and should be done today. Even some of the event gowns I have are timeless and my daughter will continue to wear them to her events. It saves time and money.

My family's often done the same thing. Not necessarily with wedding gowns, but with all other ballroom dresses. Extended family and friends in the area all know that they can "check out" a dress from us if there's a need.
