Can a Mom Drink from a Sippy Cup Too?

I bought trail mix today. It just looked so good, so healthy, so earthy. And then I grabbed a big jug of Odwalla Blueberry B Monster, a healthy fruit smoothy drink. I quickly ran home to drop off the cold items before heading to the bank and then to the elementary school to pick up my Kindergartener. But I was so excited about the trail mix and the Odwalla drink that I wanted to bring some with me for the ride. I grabbed the to-go pack of the trail mix, but needed something to put the drink in. In a hurry, I did what any mom would do in such a race: I grabbed a sippy cup (no time to get a water bottle out).

So here I am driving along in my mini-van with my trail mix and my sippy cup. I laughed at myself when I realized I was sipping quickly and between cars, so no one would see me drinking from a toddler cup. This must be the epitome of being a mom!

I get to the bank and throw a handful of trail mix in my mouth as the teller comes to the window. "How are you doing today?," he says. Just then an almond, a raisin, something doesn't go down right and I feel the need to cough or choke. I grab my sippy cup, take a big swig and say: "I'm fine. Just a deposit today." Then I realize the teller just saw me drinking from a sippy cup. He smiles like he's trying not to. You know, to spare me some of the public humiliation. I try not to laugh, but a smirk comes over me.

I drive off and grab the sippy cup again. Oh well. It sure tastes good!

Come on really, what do you think our water bottles with a closing lid really are? We just crave oral sensation. Even if we discuise it as "drinking healthy water throughout the day." (By the way I know an adult who still uses a binkey :0)

Thanks for the laugh! I can't count the number of times I've almost grabbed my daughter's sippy cup because I was thirsty especially when we're out and about. I always manage to forget water for myself even though I've packed it for her.

I just got out of the shower nice and clean. After reading your sippy cup story I think I should grab a Pamper.
Thanks for a very long good laugh.
