on the job training for the Executive Domestic
on the job training for the Executive Domestic
Hi ceoMoms -- Welcome to a new week! I could ask you about how you are doing, but instead I'm going to ask you: "How are you breathing?" Most moms (and anyone stressed out for that matter) are shallow breathers: Breathing consists of short tiny breaths in and out and many of us go about our lives never knowing how to really breath. You know you are a shallow breather when you try to take 6-8 deep breaths in a row and you become a little dizzy.
So why do we moms need to breath and breath deep? Because breathing right on a regular basis alleviates stress. It's as simple as that. If your child won't get in the car, take a deep breath before you react and see how that helps keep you in control. In fact, make it a point to take 4-6 deep breaths in a row every few hours. You will physically notice a difference in your stress level. And we moms need just that.
Your automatic nervous system will make sure you breath to stay alive, but learning to breath well will make you FEEL alive. This is an important reminder for all moms and also a great lesson to pass on to our children, who will otherwise grow up to be shallow stressed-out breathers as well. So, take a deep breath and exhale your stress!
Love,
ceoMom 101
