on the job training for the Executive Domestic

Hi ceoMoms -- This is a fantastic time of year! It's so fun to read your questions and tips regarding your gardens! There's nothing like fresh, homegrown vegetables. First you plant the seeds or baby plant, you water the plants each and every day, they grow slow at first and then before you know it, there's a big bustling plant with blossoms - sure to turn into the perfect squash, zucchini or tomato. And then before you know it, your talking about how to prepare, cook and save all the veggies.

This is just like raising kids. In the beginning, you feel like you are watering all the time and there's not much progress. Sometimes you feel like it's day-by-day. Just getting through is all you can think about. And then all of a sudden, when you least expect it, there's a blossom. You think: "Wow! Look how big she is getting!." Then the time warp begins and the phrase: "They grow up so fast" begins to ring true.

So for the moms out there who are busy watering their plants, take peace and comfort. It's tough now and you wonder if there's a blossom out there. But don't worry. There is.

Love,
