ceoMom Agenda

November 11, 2008
on the job training for the executive domestic

Hi ceoMom - Learn to say "no." It's hard to do sometimes, but it feels so good. It means you know what your boundaries are and that you are in control of your life. So what are your priorities? Here are mine:
-- My children and husband
-- Peace in the house (this includes organization and regard for the home)
-- ceoMom
-- Exercise and nutrition
-- Extended family and close friends
-- Volunteer and project time

I only take on what I can and what will not affect my top priorities. We often sacrifice our time with our family, for example, to get an outside project done. We tell ourselves that it's just a temporary thing, but then the next project begins and we tell ourselves the same thing. That's how children begin to feel left out or unloved. It is our time that they want! Even if it's just an hour in the evening where they can get your full attention, that will mean the world to a child.

Know what your boundaries are. Then say "yes" to your kids.

Love,

There is power in verbally stating priorities. I love how focused you are. It is so easy to get side-tracked! Thank you for sharing this.
