ceoMom 101 Revealed

October 1, 2008
on the job training for the Executive Domestic

Hello ceoMom – I’ve wanted to go incognito on ceoMom for one main reason: perfection eludes me. Elastigirl, the mom on the movie Incredibles, says it perfectly: “Of course I have a secret identity. Who’d want to go shopping as Elastigirl, y’know what I mean?” Being ceoMom 101 means you’ve got to be on the ball 24/7 – the mom to emulate, right? Well, it’s just me.

I’m like you: I’ve operated on no sleep for months at a time. I about pulled my hair out trying to potty train my oldest with not much better luck with my second. I don’t know what to cook for dinner and sometimes I look around my house and wonder what bomb went off. I’ve had to pick myself up a million times and go to bed defeated. I’ve completely lost myself and completely found myself. It’s all in a days work as a ceoMom.

But in it all I’ve found something wonderful. A challenge. And rising to a challenge is what I like to think I’m made of. And it’s exactly what I know you are made of too. That’s why you’re here. We’ve gathered on ceoMom to rise to the challenge of motherhood, no matter what comes our way. And we can band together, ask for help and write down our feelings. Our job is so important.

That’s why I wanted to be ceoMom 101. Perfect? No. But just remember what Elastigirl also said: “Leave the saving of the world to the men? I don’t think so. I don’t think so.”

Love,
ceoMom 101
Ps. Most of you already knew me as ceoMom 201.
