She has yet to meet Witchelena. I know I'm going to sound like a mean mom. After all, they worked hard for that bag of candy. But I just can't stand all the wrappers and watching them pick at their dinner plates for days because they are so full of M & M's and mini-Snickers bars. Frankly, I can't stand the temptation either. I'm not sure what I ate yesterday besides mini-dark chocolate Milky Way bars. (Calories don't count in those right?) No matter where they hide their bags, it's always scary prey for me while they are at school. In looking out for the best interests of the whole family, I invited Witchelena to come visit our house a few years ago. The girls are used to her--even like her--and know going in that possessing a treasure bag of candy is going to be short lived. Today they'll get to choose ten or so of their favorites and leave the rest hanging in their treat bag on their bedroom door knob. Witchelena (who Sarah believes is good friends with the Tooth Fairy) will come and replace their candy with coloring books, sparkly socks and anything else she finds at the dollar store today.
I can hear Anna's next big phrase, "Where candy go? Where candy go?" Witchelena took it Anna. And she and the Tooth Fairy are building a house with it right now. Sorry 'bout that. I guess you and me will have to have eggs and applesauce for breakfast this morning instead of Kit Kats. Somehow we'll adjust.
